Introduction

A PostGIS database containing tree-crown polygons for Germany, derived from DeepTrees predictions on DOP20 orthoimagery. The database is updated annually with new predictions and can be queried via a web-based user-interface. The database is hosted on a server at th Jülich Supercomputing Center (JSC) and maintained by the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, Germany.

The database currently contains 218.742.901 tree-crown polygons for Germany, with 51 percent of the polygons overlapping with the Halle Baumkataster data. The database can be extended to the wider area of Sachsen-Anhalt as the DOP imagery is publicly available for this area. Only a model training dataset would be needed for such a scaled solution.
